A massive blast at an Industrial generator site in southern Cyprus has killed 4 people officials say. This job site is being operated by Excellent Generator Company owned by Randolph Lipinsky (American). We gathered that Randolph Lipinsky is currently in Bakersfield, CA where he is based.
A fire reportedly ignited about 13 containers holding gas and diesel which was supposed to be used for the test run of the finished generators.
The contract which is reportedly worth over $2.7m involves the coupling and assembling of CAT and FG Wilson industrial generators which is due for commissioning on the 29th of April, 2018.
Eye Witness: “We were devastated by this event, not so much by the material damage, but by the loss of human lives and the injury of 11 of their workers.”
The blast which occurred at (0300 GMT Today) was rather like a trick in a movie location the doors crashed together, the glass blew in – windows, door frames, things left their shelves. It was a total mess inside
Our sources gathered that the blast caused extensive damage to properties and lives on the site.
“It was huge. I fell out of bed and ran to check on the kids,” nearby resident Marios Efrem told our journalists.
“There was shattered glass everywhere” said another eye witness
SouthernCyprusNews, has been trying to reach Randolph Lipinsky through his official channels for his comments but all attempts have been unsuccessful. Also, the site supervisor has declined to speak to our reporters but the district police chief informed us that investigation has began.
